wrong side of the road - converting seats

Anyone of you guys who have ever tried to convert a passenger's seat to a driver's seat? - my driver's seat are all worn out, but I have several passenger's seats in good order, - I just tried to figure out if it is worth the trouble? - Or perhaps swap with one of you people who are driving on the wrong side of the road - I scratch your bag and you scratch mine??
Regards Chris Varming

I completely re-covered a set of seats many years ago, the covers can be removed and replaced on the other seat, but there is probably an easier way involving swapping the recliner handles over, I'll have a look at the seats I've got kicking around in the garage.

I have done that.
The seat squabs and backs are the same. The adjusting and tension lever is sided. You would have to remove the plates and arm from the passenger side seat and insert your driver adjusting arm into the opposite side of the passenger seat. Due to the torsion bar arrangement, the lever will be under tension as you insert it. Be sure to have the lever more upright than horizontal so that you get a tight lock when the seat gets back into use.

Only problem I had was that a small plate on the backrest which is something to do with the seatbelt is now on the wrong side

I had a look at one of my seats yesterday, and noticed a small bracket on the base which also would be on the wrong side. Although I can't remember what the bracket is for, at the front of the seat base to one side ?

Small bracket?
Could that be for the early seat "fore and aft" adjustment which used a cable and pull handle? That was later replaced by a lift-bar.

I prefer the lift bar so I replaced the older cable arrangement with a bar and left the bracket in place.

Eric, that makes sense, it looks to be in the right place. I've got no idea of the age of these seats as they were supplied with my project but weren't fitted, just piled inside the car, they were definately from a diferent vehicle.
