WTB-Viscous Drive Fan Clutch

You could be in a bit of trouble there Oldbloke. Im on the lookout too - only as a just in case spare! I wonder if a later one off say a disco could be adapted?

Saw where a guy in Australia had several, but hasn't responded to any of my attempts to contact (Facebook- Rover P6 advice)

New viscous couplings do show up with p6 traders on Ebay at times, might be worth a look.
I know they are quite expensive!
Clive.

I read somewhere , that you can replace the oil with new viscous coupling oil [snake oil maybe] . Must have to be able to get the old oil out I guess to do that . Ive never studied mine for longer than a few moments when I pulled the water pump off once . Why fix something if it aint broke . I replaced my viscous fan clutch eons ago . I bought a new one off the shelf . In the good old days when shelves were full of P6 stuff and dirt cheap!! If I knew then what I know now !! Im cryin in me coffee now.

Oldbloke,

I am getting a parts car delivered on Tuesday of next week, and as luck would have it I will be up at the Russian River the first week in May. If you want I will check and see if it has what you need.

Thanks SoCal V8. Should be around. North Meets South (Google it) event in San Luis Obismo area April 30-May 2nd. Folks from your area supposed to be there. Send PM when and where you'd like to meet. Viscous drive or not. Jim

That North Meets South looks like a good event - won't be able to make it even though I'll be driving through SLO that weekend :( I'll have the car loaded with the missus and the dogs and stopping to go to a car show would be frowned upon.

The parts car looks as if it has the viscous coupling on it and I'll see if I can find the one from my car, so one or both will make the journey north. I'll be staying just outside Monte Rio the 1st through the 8th, so there should easily be time to meet up. Will PM you closer to the time and sort it all out.

For sure..I've been known to meet up with UK P6 club on their 2015 club outing to Ireland! Always seems a great bunch.

This is what I currently have. Doesn't really look like Frasers pieces unless something hiding forward of the fan....!Rover Fan Coupling.jpeg
