Youngest owner?

Hi everyone just joined the forum because my first p6 will be arriving on Friday and as my 17th birthday is not until May I wondered if I am one of the youngest owners. I fell in love with the p6 when my dad (midlifecrisis) bought his home for the first time and what really sealed the deal was when he let me driver the car at a show. The car I have bought is a 1975 2200 fitted and registered as a 2000. I am planning to get the running and road legal by the rover show on the 28th of August at the Buckinghamshire railway centre. I am going to need lots of help and advise and will posting pictures regularly of my progress on the car.

Welcome, John!

Not sure whether you are the youngest owner, but it's immensely gratifying to see young P6 enthusiasts on here....and hopefully you'll remain so when us old buggers have shuffled off!

Plenty of advice and encouragement readily available on here...the price of which is seeing some pics of your car! :)

Youve beaten me by two years . I was 19 when I bought mine. Still got her though . Maybe thats some sort of record

beat me too, i was 24 when i got mine, now 37 and still got it, was a free 2200TC, but had to do lots of restoration work to get it where it is now.
Some spare parts if you need any. I am in Essex.

I was about 23 when i first got a v8 p6. Before that I had a series of opel mantas.... I was the only 18 year old driving a manta (only one stupid enough to pay the insurance!)

I seemed to recall my V8 was a much more practical choice than most people thought at 17. The insurance for the car certainly wasn't very high (old man's car) and I sold the car a year later for what I paid for it.

Given that I only drove about 100 miles a week, even the fuel consumption wasn't an issue.

Welcome, John.
I'm looking forward to seeing progress reports. Josephine has been sitting gathering dust in my workshop for too long & I'm glad she's gone to an enthusiastic new owner.

Josephine got here all right have already washed her looking nice now going to do some more to her tomorrow.

Good to see young folk appreciating such a cool car. I bought my first P6 when I was 17 (just before my 18th) I still own that very same car and I'm 49 next month! A few P5s and a couple of V8s have come and gone in that time, however my trusty 2000SC and I remain firm friends. My son who turned 17 a few months ago nearly bought a P6 however sadly it was decided for now he needed a more practical modern car as he travels a lot for his sailing. Still one day....
