65 lb ft! That is loose.. 3/8 ratchet tight near enough! Don't talk to me about over tight bolts. I'm a main dealer tec and see some crazy stuff. People don't seem to realise the tighter it is, the more likely it is to snap under hard cornering!

Check the fuel filter Winston.. Collect what you drain out.. Blow it through the outlet..

Hi, remove and drain your fuel filter, blowing through the output hole and collect what comes out in a dish.. see what comes out and if there is an improvement?

Yes, it's a bit wavy. I wondered if it might be dry and the mechanism is noisey? It sounds horrible.

I have been doing some more poking and listening.. It is better when cold, noisier as it warms up. It is the O/S bank, towards the front. I think it is a tappet.. I think it manages to hold the oil when it is thicker, (cold) but not as good when it is thinner.. Hot.

Its not missing.. It goes like a rocket. If it sounds that bad maybe I should cut my losses. :(

It's a tick, not a knock and it does do it from cold I think. Had a listen this morning.

Yes I have changed it for millers. I think that is when I started to notice the ticking. I think!

What doesn't help Stina is I am a mechanic in a Japanese main dealer so noises that a 40 year old over head valve engine makes can be easily tuned into as they are not as quiet as any over head cam engine..

Cheers chaps and chappesses. I might be listening too hard.. From cold it is much better, getting noisy after say 10 minutes or so.. I wonder if anyone that knows them locally could listen to it for me, maybe I am listening too hard?!
