This has probably been discussed before but are all front struts the same between models? I have two old ones from a 2200sc that I was going to overhaul to fit to my early 2000 that has Dunlop brakes.
I have two different carb spacer blocks one with the throttle rod lugs and one without are both fitted?
Also on the heat shield there was a bracket broken on the bottom edge, where does that bolt onto?
It's been two years since I removed my engine and gearbox and now trying to piece things back together.
Firstly I need a new clutch, being a 1964 2000 with an 'A' suffix gearbox the clutch cover should be the one with the bearing shoulder on the fingers but has had a later one fitted, I can see...
I've stripped down the dizzy and have arsed up by not noting which way the drive dog was fitted. First glance I thought it was central but now see it is slightly offset.
Has anyone got a pic or diagram so I get it right? Also there is a plastic seal and bronze shim do these go between dog and...
I'm rebuilding the carb from my 64 2000sc that I stripped down months ago and can't remember if the needle sits flush or goes right in to the piston.
Flush or....
Right in.
Also can anyone tell what is the correct needle, the kit had an RN needle but it was a KU needle that came out.
And can...
Is it possible to swop the choke cable knobs over?
I would like to keep mine original with the round knob but the replacement cable has a hook. The original cable has a different shape to the thicker part behind the knob than the new one so I can't just swop the inside cable over.
I have been given an old Optilux timing kit with a pressure tester, strobe lamp and dwell meter, but there are no instructions with the kit. Can anyone tell me how to use the dwell meter?
A few years ago I bought an old Rover V8 engine to do a conversion on my MGB but never got round to.
Just wondering if anyone can tell what it came out of? It seems to have odd (to me anyway) manifolds.
Engine number is RTC2372BN2220
I've just taken out the front seats from my '64 2000 and the drivers and passengers seat have different adjuster mechanism. Which one is correct for that year?

Passenger seat
Also below where the rear cushions would sit there are two small holes, any ideas what they are for

I need to remove a drive shaft as one u/j has been fitted with the grease nipple to the inside and has snapped off. Can the drive shafts be removed by just removing the end nut and chapping through, or will the hubs need removed and affect the bearing setup?
I have misplaced the clip that holds the handbrake cable to the diff extension crossmember on a 1964 Dunlop braked car. Item number 26 in the picture, part number 538816
Has anyone got one, or any suggestion as what else to use?
As the title suggest I have a query about these mounts, the workshop manual states
" Assemble the flexible mounting, together with the dished washers and distance pieces in the sequence as illustrated, and retain with centre nut and bolt leaving loose. Then secure the flexible mounting to the...
Is it possible to change the rubber boots on a handbrake cable?
Mine is off a 1964 Dunlop braked car and has only one boot which is split on it at the moment, should there be two?
Also can it be swapped with a more readily available later cable?
can anyone tell me the inside bore dimension of the rear calliper housing and also what clearance is needed to the piston. I have an engineering workshop ready to bore out and sleeve the pots and they want to know.
Thanks in advance.
Brian
I had heard of a P6 that had been sitting in a garage for nearly 25 years that was needing removed as the garage block was getting demolished. I was told it was an early 3500. Out of curiosity I went for a look in the hope of finding something special.
It was indeed a1968 model, originally grey...
I have just started attempting to stick some new metal in to the inner wing on my Rover and have gone through 3 disposable gas cylinders on 2 small patches. I reckon I get about a dozen tacks done and about 3 inch of seam weld done and the bottles run out. I have the regulator turned right down...
