are the shock nuts tight?if loose they could cause the knock..if u go down the route of taking the shock off dont drive fast otherwise that side will bounce a lot. also check the spring is case it has snapped near the end.
why??As long as the parts are of quality and marked as tested or equivelante like bs mark or tuv there will be NO problems from a insurance view..only way a insurance co will not payout if there are modifications that u havent told them..or fitted sub standard parts and that includes secondhand...
i may be thinking of another type of rover car..I am sure it was a rover..I know there are a few maestros and montegos that are a very late reg number usually ex mod.
Isnt there A G reg (1990 year)p6 knockig about that was built from a old stock shell and old stock new parts and A few remaunfactured parts...I am pretty sure it was a G reg P6 but I may be wrong and it may be a rover of some other model that was old and made from new parts..

he buys and sells a lot of rare and hard to find cars on ebay..he has a morris 1300 countryman as well as other cars at the moment like a sunbeam rapier coupe
i wouldnt be able to set up £3000 to buy 50 sets and hold onto them in the hope to sell them all on and make a profit out of it...and i wouldnt have thought many other people would either..maybe the p6 owners club commitee? I dont belong to owners club but do they have there own spares to sell...
the only sheel left now thats salvageable is a 1969 2000sc auto thats got a fair bit of rust in the floorpan....The rust free one was 1 of them that went up in smoke :(
I have got others but at the moment they all have got smoke damage or ash on them..I am slowly getting round to clearing up...
clutch pedal and pipe/slave cylinder/gearbox mounts/gearstick unless you already got 1/bypass the inhibitor wiring(easy job)
if u go the manual box way then put a new cylinder on the clutch bellhousing as they are cheap and easy to get hold of..mini ones are the same but a few do need a small...
i use a vacum bleeder to empty the brake systems on scrap cars as well....i also use the same pump with a diffrent pipe to empty the engine oil from the sump without taking the plug out of the bottom...
i think those tyres are from about 1986-1992....we need the 3 or 4 digit number which is heat stamped onto 1 side of the tyre..it may be on the inside wall of the tyre..
to a lot of people emailing me about bits sorry i havent got back to a few.As due to a bit of a fire in the storage yard a month back things have only just started to get back to normal....no free bits for a while.......
