I have sent my Rear lower arm to have new bushes pressed in but as the old one was trashed it doesn't resemble the new one ( larger of the two bushes that the lower part of the elbow attaches to) which way round does the new bush go as it appears to be shaped ... Passenger side 1971 3500 auto
Used my at weekend - after about 30 miles of mixed driving inc lots of stop start and no issues, pressed brake pedal and it almost went to the floor - quickly released and pressed again and pedal fine! it did it again after a couple of miles then fine. Not losing fluid, no other problems that I...

I have been offered a recon bw35 box - how do i defo know it is a 35 and is it any different to that fitted to my 1970 3500 auto - it was in a triumph 2.5pi (1969) after being recon but car died. I dont believe i need it ..yet ...but it is readily available to me and I thought worth having but...
OK Guys - starting with dashpot oil - where should they be filled to - the narrow tube is full that the damper goes into - is that the correct measure - the book talks about 1" below the top but is that of the narrow reservoir or the broader area?
Checking full throttle - i will double check...

The brakes on my 3500 auto don't feel right. They seem ok then need a lot of pressure -its as though they have come to the end of their travel then need a shove. If i press them gently it feels as though they are pushing back against me?? When I start car after pumping pedal it sometimes gives...

Guys
What are people using for anti freeze - there seem to be some scares about the wrong types. What are the risks and what if anything would be wrong with eg Unipart Yellow/ green long life anti freeze?

Thanks guys, these were "brand new" reconditioned calipers that were not cheap! I fully expected them to be able to be bolted in place and when rebuilt with all new fittings, pads etc to function properly. The reconditioning company (not the supplier) has accepted that the caliper piston is...
got a guy with 40 years experience to check it out and it is u/s - now back off car and piston seized solid !! Now back in post :( never had anything professionally recon before that failed - we live and learn. in terms of setting up the handbrake - what needs set up if the caliper is built...
thanks - I bought fresh reconditioned units as i thought i would remove any doubts - time is a little scarce just now so it was the expensive but easy way out - or so I thought
I have just finished overhauling the brakes (1970 3500 auto) and put 2 recon calipers and associated pipework etc on the rear. bled the system then took it for MOT. Brakes didn't feel fab and at MOT station they advised that handbrake has too much travel and that the off side rear caliper...
When reassembling the brakes on the rear I am struggling to hold the locking tab in place along with the anti rattle spring etc - it all seems to want to turn on itself - am I tightening it too much or is there another sensible way to get the stud tightened and comfortably secure without relying...
there is an earlier posting that i used when I did mine which I did in situ - make sure you have the correct o ring that can deal with fuel - then ensure you don't force the insert fully home before you put the little retaining screw back in - it goes gently into the groove in the insert before...
Cheers - have now checked and yes fluid dribbled out of one side and I reckon i have punctured the one on the other side - not a lot of space in there :( So, what are the recommendations and would this alone account for the poor braking performance ie that the servo is prob ok? Are re seal kits...
