Hi all,just been reading my P6 news and was looking at the article for the rally at Tal-y-llyn.I know it's a while away yet but was anyone thinking of going?Was going to make a day of it,nice drive over and near the beach for the kids to!

Had a crack at it today,decided to just swap the motor from me scrap car in the end.Not to bad to do,take the wipers off,take the air valance off then whip the motor out.Put the other one in and its working fine.

Mines a '71 2000 SC.Will have a go at the weekend.Coming home tonight it did switch off by itself,not as soon as i switched it off but a few minutes later so hopefully its like you think and just the contacts need a clean.

Thanks for that Dave,do i take the whole wiper motor out?Is that a pig of job or not to bad?

Just won the 2000 SC engine and hopefully pick it up at the weekend.Says its been converted to run on unleaded and has the paperwork to say so.Will let you know how i get on.

Quick update,took the car to my usual mechanic and at first look,he had a drive to,he thinks its only running on three cylinders.He's going to do a compression check this week and we'll take it from there.Will let you know how i get on.

I've got some auto transmission oil,is it ok to just top it up with that or should I drain out whats in so it's all the same?
