5 litre hotrod 1965 2000-

Hi, as far as number plates go I can remember a discussion a couple of years ago somewhere along
the lines of the number plate needs to be as near vertical as possible. Plus if the manufacturer
provides a place and you don't use it you risk a fine. Alfa's and The Rovering Member show a solution.

As far heat extraction is concerned, I can remember a number of years ago that a restoration company
were putting tuned Jag 6 pots into Mk2s and fitted fans into the inner wings to help with heat
extraction, all well and good. However opening up the holes in the rear of the inner wings of the P6 could
lead to difficulties at MOT time, as they are within 300mm of suspension mounts.

I am not being a wet blanket, just providing food for thought,

Colin

made 6 louvers out of 2.5 mm steel so can cut out sides of bay and weld those in The idea is heat will flow out basically behind wheels can cool brakes--pipes from front to act like ducting so no more hole in hood as 3 vents enough in it already

Ah cool, I like the sound of that, just don't go too far and put up too many incriminating photos

Phew - that would be a heart stopper

So they're buying you a new tow hitch cover and a bottle of something to say sorry I hope...

Don't you just love it when the solidity of a Rover is demonstrated in such a graphic manner!

Glad nobody - or the car - hurt.

Happy Xmas!

Chris

Sorry to hear of your mishap. Good thing your car is fitted with a tow bar. Sturdy but heavy things, definitely beef up the back end in the event of a shunt from behind. Have a good Xmas.

Had a van bonk into the back of my Rover in a carpark once, I was sitting in the car and it scared the life out of me. The bloke came running out to apologise, but he had hit the towbar of course. Luckily it was only 2mph so he had a tiny dent in his bumper. Sometimes I think about taking off the towbar for a sleeker look, but then I remember that it is an indestructable hunk of metal and will probably at some point save my life!

Glad everyone and everything is all alright though :D

Damned Renault drivers! Good that you're alright and they came off worst

Problem with towbars is that they protect upto a point, then cause further serious damage when they do give way. It's a no win situation, risk light cosmetic damage or significant hidden structural damage :?

Have you had a look underneath just to be sure yet?

It's one of the reasons I don't drive my P6 much during the winter, even with the rear lenses polished up and a third high level brake light (I'm one of those people who sit at traffic with my brake lights on) I simply don't trust other road users not to prove how moronic they can be!

Firstly yes did check thoroughly-no damage apart from dent in chrome cover Secondly Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas :D :D

to prove old rovers are easy to work on--Harry aged 9-did my brakes for me :D :D

they are better now -but still need my other brakes putting on there----got a plan--if it works will let you know

What a great idea! He should be just about the right size to do the rear brakes.
BTW, it looks like your front discs need replacing. That's a hell of a lot of unswept area on the disc.
