5 speed install and off to the painters !

Peter
That could be a possible thanks.
Demetris
I have the code, but the mix that the PPG system made from the code is not the same as on the Gordini, it is very different.
I guess if it was easy they'd all be doing it :)

Go to your local Hardware shop and rummage through their paint swatches for shades. They have a huge variety from different manufacturers and mixing it to match your selection shouldn't be too hard for a competent paint supplier.
Have a look at the RAL and Pantone colour cards, too.

Thanks Guys
Corsica blue on images I have seen looks a little too dark ? I have a mate who has a big collection of RAL and other chips, I'll ask him for a looky
I don't know if the racer is actually a Rover colour, I will look into it further.
My Son has sent the Gordini owner a message on facebook, but as yet no reply.

I had two Corsica blue 2000TCs, one UK assembled Kenyan spec and one full spec LHD NADA.
It's a tricky colour to reproduce in photos, very sensitive to lens coatings or polarising. Get a swatch on a compound curved surface and see.

Just saw this pop up on Facebook and thought of your colour search

Try Pageant blue - may be a bit brighter.
Or there was a Triumph blue - can't recall the name.

Mark.

Thanks both
The French car is very nice, I am thinking that may be Pageant. I will ask the guys to spray out some Pageant and Tahiti when the mince pies have gone down.

Well I could lie and say its Monteverdi blau, but I think I might get sussed pretty quick.

So the truth is nothing I tried came close, with time clicking on I had to find something. Recently during a workshop refurb we had for an open day I had painted the Record vices blue. I stood there looking at a vice and thought 'that's not a bad colour'
So I found the pot of paint and sprayed some out on a sheet of aluminium and bingo that was the blue I was after.
I took the sample in to the paint shop and they scanned it and have nailed it - it looks fab on the chip they sprayed for me. On my monitor it looks like the French car above.
The pot of paint was for painting brake calipers blue, I will be able to get a code for it.

That is very close if not French Blue. I'm pretty sure it is the blue component of the standard leyland racing colours of blue and white.

Looking good! The fine tuning bodywork they've done looks great, no discredit to your fibreglassing, the shapes are now really coming alive.
Can't wait to see it with the wheels back on and fully buffed :)
Is this bodyshop part of where you work?
Jim

Hi Jim
The body shop is mid way between my home and work, the guys have all embraced the project with a passion and cant wait for me to bring it back completed.
