Are there any reasons you wouldn't install an oil catch can on a carburettor'd 3.5?

According to Robs other thread he does not have any oil in his engine.

Yes he does

No he doesn't

Getting my coat..............................................

Look out, Mark's bored again :)

Well you could be right.......but I have been busy.
I spent 4 hours today chasing an electrical gremlin on the old Rover, found a dodgy connection behind the boot mill board to the NSR brake wear indicator wiring. So with that sorted pressed on with a little dress up project that I will reveal soon.
I also got a new screen rubber and new bottom gutter rubber from Wins ready to fit the screen, both are going back, the screen rubber is just not going to work - Clive warned me it wouldn't, and as for the bottom gutter rubber, well, pants ! no good. Might as well not have one, there is no way the new one will divert water away from the heater area.
To all suppliers - If you are going to tool up and repro parts then get samples done and make sure they are EXACT to OEM otherwise all you are going to get is bad press and pissed off customers.

So I think I will go grass cutting tomorrow

Alasdair
That is a very generous offer thank you.
I wanted to get a new softer more pliable sealing rubber and quizzed Geoff at length before purchase as to the quality and fit of the current batch he has, he assured me that he had sold hundreds and had no complaints, well he has one now.
My mistake was not asking him about the gutter rubber, it goes on the steel OK, but the side of the gutter that should be vertical on the engine side is moulded at 45 degrees and is half the height of the original.
Now I do have a decent screen rubber, although very hard, and I have repaired a couple of nicks in the very hard gutter rubber.
So we shall see what the outcome is with Geoff.

I would not like to take your rubber seal as I feel that you should hang on to it for a rainy day ....... Oh boy, its the way I tell 'em !

I guess I was kind of referring to the 'like' button. On other forums when you hover over the 'like' there's a few to choose from. :)

I thought that would raise eyebrows !
The thing is the humble PCV valve has quite a lot of science behind it, when you start reading about the set up you realise that car manufacturers have precisely tuned their systems to a particular engine.
Slapping on a cheap part store valve could well be a waste of money if it does not actually work, and even worse you think that you are keeping the engine free of harmful contaminates when in fact it is running with no protection at all.

At least you know what the top end valve looks like, now you can google the Walmart / Costo versions :)
