Brake hose unions on S1 2000TC

Hi All,

I have just got a set of new brake hoses for my S1 2000TC. I notice looking under the rear end that I have a banjo union on the left rear caliper. But just a threaded end on the respective hose. Before I start pulling things apart does anyone know if I can screw the hose directly onto the banjo or will I have to make something up to fit the later style hose to the earlier style banjo fitting?

By the way the car has the Girling brakes setup, not the Dunlop.

Tanks in advance,

Steven

I can't ever remember there being any banjo type fittings on the Girling rear calipers, so all I can think is that someone has dispensed with the small metal pipe that comes from the caliper body and meets the flexible hose at the bracket secured to the dustcover, and replaced it with one with the banjo fitting directly on to the caliper body.

Funny thing is it looks completely original. I'll try and get a photo this weekend if I can get time. (The better half wants me to replace the leaky shower valve).

Any thoughts :?:

That does sound a little odd, here is a picture of the S2 1973 rear breaks, that is how it should look, as a reference.

It's hard to see in the picture but where the hose connects the pipe on the near side there is a bracket. If yours has been bodged by a previous owner in the past this may be missing.
