Hi All,

If you've been reading the Events section on the Malvern show on Sunday, you'll know that I've been discussing the purchase of a new toy, well today, Tina finally arrived home!

She's a 1965 TR4 in Wedgewood Blue. Doesn't she look lovely :D

How happy can a man look !!!

So, if the sun is shining on Sunday, We'll be TR'ing over to Malvern - well, can't blame a boy for wanting to play with his toys now !!!

........and don't worry about Vanessa, I'll not part with her until they carry me away in a box!

Cheers,
Bri.

Brilliant news Brian,,
Cant wait to see it!!!
Lets hope the weather holds up for its first outing to this weekends sunday jaunt to the Malvern event!
I'll get mine out as well if the weathers ok!

My word, that is exceptionally tasty...!!! Just one minor thing though, lose that stereo...! Get a nice Radiomobile or something similar

I have to agree, you dont need it when driving anyway!!!!
The cars sound is all the music you need.

Not for me. Personally I don't give a monkey's about period radios. When I want music, I want the music that I want, and if that means a CD Radio then that's what I'll have ;-)

TBH I was thinking of changing the radio, I've a slightly later model in the garage, identical to the Sony that I've got in Vanessa that I picked up off eBay for a tenner. That'll do nicely!

I know many of you like the period radio, but my period radiomobile is nice and safe, tucked up in a box, while I enjoy what I want while I'm driving.

It's all about the fun and what it means to each of us,

cheers,
Bri.

I must admit that on my rover as its the daily driver I have both!
A period one in the proper hole and modern one in the glovebox,at least I did have till the modern one went tits up,so the period one is now in use!
Only really use the radio in the TR when parked up at shows or camping at them.

Well done Brian...looks marvellous! No excuse for me not spotting you on on Sunday then...rolling up with a huge grin like that!

Do you have a name yet for Vanessa's stablemate?

Cheers,

OOOOH!!,... I'm almost jealous  ,....seriously though Bri, she's stunning 8)

I can tell you're pleased buy that "kid in a sweetshop" grin and will expect you to load up a few pics on Pilkies Classic Carnuts very shortly,

I'll leave it to you to put Stan out of his misery re-naming her .......and as you know,I have inside information as to her name

She's beautiful Brian! No wonder you have such a big grin there. Enjoy the new toy, and the exhaust note :-D

All the best,

Steven (slighly green with just a touch of envy!)

hmm where did the other four cylinders go??? or at least 2 more, I have to admit its a sexy looking beast (and I am jealous I assure you) but it may be in need of a Buick conversion :D

Graeme

That looks absolutely geogeous Brian. I do think the 4 is my favourite TR. The 4 cylider engine and rigid axle I think suits the character of the car better than the later versions. My favourite TR colour, the targa roof and a later wood dash as well! Perfect!

Chris

That's fantastic Brian, well done. I shall look forward to seeing it on Sunday.

Doesn't look like you'll need to get your hands dirty with it either. Turn the key and go!

Do you get a soft top aswell as the Surrey roof?

Hi Paul,

Thanks

The Surrey roof is either hard or soft and I have both!

I don't have a full soft top - but then the rigid surrey back window helps keep the girls happy - it helps prevent lots of wind being buffetted about and moaning about her hair being blown all over the place. It'll still get blown, just not as much!

I've got a 'period' one in my latest project - & it's CR*P

LW or MW is not really a choice today - even then I only 'listen' to Radio 4 or Magic depending on which I can actually get!

....it will be replaced. I have a CD/Radio in my other V8 which is really great & as a daily driver it's a must for me. 8)
