Choke cable

As a follow-up to my previous post - All my early brochures (i.e. from model launch) show drawings rather than photo's so the details are not visible and the spec. quotes ".. interior lamps front and rear ..". Later, series one brochures show photographs where the mirror-mounted lamp is plainly visible however these brochures are not dated!
Perhaps some other member can cast further light on the subject!
Regards, John.
p.s. Jules, I think that you will only get the curved choke lever from a breaker or the odd one as on e-bay wheras the round type may still be purchased new. If originality is important to you go for it

Well folks its gone and at £25.52 including postage Im glad I kept out of it. Looks like it will definatly be a mini choke for me

There's a first for everything, but i would rather tow it from London to Birmingham by the hairs around my nuts.
Anyway i think hell would freeze over before pete condisended to offer his services to me.
Well back to the original thread of choke cable.
I could send you a quote but remember that I have to travel from Wales to London (over 200 miles) before I start.
Then at the end of the NEC I would have to do 120 miles to get back to the NEC before the return journey.

What London to Birmingham? around 200 miles - times that by two for the two journeys.

I usually charge 60p per mile for 'Man & Transporter'.

I reckon you could get a London or Birmingham based operation to do it cheaper.

However if you wish me to quote I can.
I just get on with life and make a few bucks...
...if I get the job do I get a free weekend pass to the NEC and can I stay at Maureens in Birmingham?

Okay I appologise up front for raising this subject again but I have a question re removal/fitment of a cable I acquired off eBay :D

'HOW DO YOU GET THE BLOODY NUT OFF THE BACK SO AS TO GET IT OUT FROM THE DASH'

There I swore, but I am a bit frustrated. I have removed the speaker and radio (and yes those scews at the rear that come in from the side of the radio were really annoying). I even removed the straps to the gloveboxes but I can only just get a hand inside never mind a spanner. But once the spanner was inside I could not get it onto the nut and gain any leverage to undo it. Its sooooooooo annoying. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jules,

I believe the correct tool is a boxs spanner with a cut in the side to slip the cable through.

Altenativley removed the whole centre console and you will be able to get better access with long nose pilers and spanners. This is how I got mine on.

Colin
