Is that an imperial or metric smear? and when does a smidgen of grease become a smear or how many smidgens to the smear?

Graeme
It is most certainly an Imperial smear. I have a Rover, I work on American aircraft and had a father who raised me in the "old ways".

Just remember an American smear is different to a British smear...

Very much so, if you go to an American restaurant and get either a dollop or a smear of Ketchup or sauce or other condiment you will find your food swimming in it. Every thing to excess (or is that just Texas

Oh dear, now you have just gone and done it..... After penning my response, it dawned on me that
I now have to recalibrate the smear finger to :!: METRIC :!: smears, too!!
I now also work on French engines.

The ignominy of it all.

and worst of all when does your smear become a slather. Thank god they don't do slather tests!

Hi guys,

Looking at the pins that hold the pads in, and there are 2 holes where the R clips are supposed to go through at the back of the brake pads. I can only get these to do this if the pins arent fully home due to the position of the brake pads. WIll this fix itself when i bleed the brakes and get the pistons making contact, or have I assembled something incorrectly?

Thanks,

RIch

I need to bleed the brakes a little more tomorrow i think as the pedal is very spongy, but the brakes are working. Then i have one more gaiter to check on the passenger side, angle the lights correctly, refit the wing ( and the new front valance ) and then we can have another crack at the MOT...
