Is anyone from the East London and Essex area interested in meeting up?

I know of a couple of decent pubs in the gerneral area off junction 29 of the M25 around the A127 locality so maybe these would serve the purpose.

If you are interested how about sending me a message with your details and maybe we can work something out in the near future :)

Regards

There is the club meet in Rochford/Hockley way, haven't made it yet but will be going once the car is.

P.S. I bet you were thinking of the Halfway House. I used to go to the J29 meets there (VW forum as was) that was back in the days when I drove zie German automobiles.

I haven't been to Romford for a few years but where would be suitable? I'm thinking you'd need parking for a fair few cars and space to avoid half cut punters opening doors onto our cars or reversing into them in a cramped car park. Where did you have in mind?

I Know its not Romford but the Halfway House on the A127/A128 junction is a popular spot for club meets. Its easy to get to from all directions so may attract more people.............like me.

No offence chaps but I drive from Maldon to Chigwell most days for work and not sure if I'd summon up the enthusiasm for driving my p6 right into west Essex (sorry greater London) again. Even if it is to talk cars. Having said that I don't even have an MOT at the moment and I off on my hols for 2 weeks next saturday, so that sort of rules my vote out.

Halfway house is a good suggestion I think. Well accessed from all directions iirc too. Another suggestion could be the Dog and Partridge on the A128. There's a P4 meet there I've been to and the pub has a good size car park, friendly service, and again has good access from many directions. Choices choices. I think a saturday/sunday meet would be good, what does everyone else think?

My P6 isnt alive at the moment, so i'll have to turn up in my 25.

I'm willing to go to pretty much anywhere that gets arranged really, but may i ask why a pub? Im figuring we will have our cars so wont drink anyway? Only reason i say this, is that if it wasnt about the social side of things, getting indoors somewhere and sinking a drink, we could meet one evening at St Edwards School car park which is on London Road, most nights thats a lot of space completely empty.

But like i say, i appreciate the fact people may wanna go in somewhere and have a drink etc, just a suggestion of somewhere quiet!

I believe the saying went "Above all, it's a Rover".
Point taken about the pub situation, for me the pub only gives somewhere to sit and get a cup of tea or coffee and occasional use of the little boys room. Oh, and from time to time a bowl of chips when the weather's getting a bit nippy. But I suppose as long as the school is informed that there will be strange men in Rovers hanging around their car park it should be fine.

Thats very true, and the 25 is a superb drive!

I'm not trying to take over any kind of organising or anything similar, just throwing some suggestion around though.

We gonna do this?

Right I'll be bold.

The Halfway House.

Sunday the 11 July at 12:00

Anything with a Rover badge on it

What do you think?

Right then I'll bring the City Rover
That sounds like a plan, no shows that weekend that I'm booked in for so if you see a beardy bloke in a white 2000SC that'll be me, look forward to seeing you.

Potentially looks like a good date to me, Halfway House is on A127 right? I dont often go that way!

If you see a 04 plate Silver Rover 25, that'll be me.

Sounds good Not sure what I'll be in either the P6 if I manage to get it an MOT in time or my yr 2000 45. Will let you know closer to the time what to look out for. 8)

The Halfway House is acctually on the Junction for the A128 off the A127. Come off the 127 at the 128 junction and you can either go through the Little chef car park in to the halfway house car park or go a short distance up the 128 toward Brentwood, take the first left and come back down toward the car park.

How many P6's are going to turn up? Come on boys, I am sure you can find something better to turn up than a spattering of K series BMW / Honda thingys ... coming on the bus would be better

Could we not say "anything Leyland / BMC" ... or even anyhting old ... I like most old cars.
