East London/Essex meeting.... interested??

Nah, reality is if i cant go in my 25 (which by the way happens to be a fantastic car), then i cant be going full stop. Unless by some miracle my P6 is running by then. I like Rover, i dont limit it to old Rover. My 25 happens to be no less a Rover in my eyes than my P6 is :D

How many P6's are going to turn up? Come on boys, I am sure you can find something better to turn up than a spattering of K series BMW / Honda thingys ... coming on the bus would be better

Could we not say "anything Leyland / BMC" ... or even anyhting old ... I like most old cars.

I would have thought that being there was the main point of the exercise. It's good to have a social event, but it's also good to be able to get together and ask advice about getting your car back on the road - if that's what is required..

I don't think so. I don't turn up to the one 10 miles down the road, so 60 miles is a little far.. also don't really do pubs.

Just got back from Canada land where I've been hiding for the last couple of weeks.

Won't be bringing my P6 as i can't get it booked into my sympathetic garage until the week after so I'll be bringing my Rover (BMW apparently?) 45, not a true Rover perhaps but its road leagal and moves.

If my P6 passes its MOT the week after next it'll definatly be at this one. Easy to find about 5 mins from the Rettendon junction of the A130.

Hi

I am posting to advertise, follwing a thread on mg-rover.org a North London meet [next meet 18th July] which are trying to make a regular and monthly thing. It is open to all vehicles MG or Rover, new or old, original or modded.

Please check details for the meet here:
http://forums.mg-rover.org/showthread.php?t=372045

Would be great to get some heritage Rovers in attendance.

Please also spread the word to other members from other MG or Rover forums you may be on. Remember this meet is for ALL MG or Rovers, classic or new.

Many Thanks :)

If i come to this meet, im currently not using the 25, but using my 1991 BMW 735i.
That's ok I think I still have a camo net around here somewhere :D .
Personally I think the BMW 735 is a very interesting car and a modern classic in the making. I can see why someone who owns a P6 would own a 7 series, and seeing as it was requested that this be a meet for anything old I can say that your BMW definitely fits into that category and given the BMW/Rover business links that qualifies it as well.

Splendid!
Its a very nice car, quite possibly the nicest drive i have EVER had. Its got everything on it, leather seats, electric wing mirrors, sunroof, cruise control, warp speed button (aka sports button haha).

So not used to parking something that size yet though lol.

ANYONE :?: :(

Roverguest,
I would suggest you also post this advertisement under it's own heading. That way not only people who are in the Essex area will be looking and more people in the relevant area (Nth London) may be clicking on and reading the post.
Thanks for the invite :D

I came....I saw....Nobody there?
Maybe we need to re-organise this, there was also a boy racer Ford meet there today. I didn't see any Rover's, BMW's, I suppose at least I got a 60 mile drive around Essex on a sunny day :?

Jon.... if you are the extent of the turn-out then maybe it is not worth a further attempt at a meeting :?

Nah sod it.... lets try again :D

How about the same venue on Sunday 25th July at 12noon?

If you are prepared to drive that distance then I am fully prepared to meet up with you and buy you a drink.... how about it?

Right who else is prepared to back us up?

I've just had a skim through the Rover calendar and I've just spotted I'm already booked into a show that day at Newbury racecourse, but we should still try to make this a ongoing thing but as we all know there is always something going on and as much as I try I can't be in two places at once, if it wasn't for this clash of dates I would be very happy to get this meet going. What is everyone else's feeling on this?

I will be at the SD1 national rally on the 1st. But that said what does everyone else who commented on this thread earlier think date-wise?
After the SD1 national I'll be on the Spen King Run on the 21st august, don't think I've got anything booked inbetween for sundays, so the 8th August may be an option?
This would give us some time to call the pub and make sure this date doesn't conflict with any functions or other vehicle meets being held, I could also speak to some of the other classic Rover clubs and see if there's any interest in the meantime.
Cheers,
Jon.
