Occie currently runs Pertronix Igniter ignition retaining the standard ballast coil set up. The Pertronix module has a separate 12V feed, and the RVI tacho works OK as before conversion.
It's been on my mind for a long while to replace the original distributor, so before the car goes to the rolling road session in May I'm going to change to >this set up< as a few others, such as codekiddie and 1396midget (I believe) have done. The 2 leads from the module nominally connect to the coil + and - LT terminals.
My only concern is how to wire in the tacho and whether it's likely to work after fitting the kit. I've seen threads on here, notably from codekiddie, regarding conversion from RVI to RVC...which zoom a little over my head at the moment!
This is the original ballast set up: - 22 = Distributor, 37 = Tacho, 44 = Coil, 45 = Ballast Resistor
I've emailed Simon and am waiting for an answer, but hopefully someone here will have more specific info.
