engine runs only on two cilinders.

It is possible the bottels are to weak, she are plastic ones, and can be sucked flat.

I will try otherwise I do use glass.

Now thinking about how to treat rust, I have a idea of using ship fet here

http://www.binnenvaartwinkel.nl/Webshop ... part/29448

Semi Liquid anti-corrosion grease.
Brownish in color, composed of mineral base materials, anti-rust additive and dilution.
Excellent adhesion and water resistance.
Effective and long-lasting protection against rust on ships

I am afraid that the you tube video is rather misleading. The man who made it has confused manifold vacuum with carburettor airflow . The two are not the same at all. Manifold vacuum can be affected by a whole array of factors e.g. tappet adjustment on the cylinders it feeds, and what he is doing is equalising the vacuum between carburettors. In any event, with most multiple carburetter setups, including the Rover, there is a balance port in the manifold which automatically will equalise the vacuum , and to a lesser extent, it also affects the airflow i.e. any given cylinder draws mixture from both carburetters, albeit to differing degrees. To synchronise carburetters properly, the depression must be measured on the atmospheric side of the butterflies

Hi All

I did indeed make a mistake by saying that I use the servo connection, because it is on manifold, I did mean the carter vent hoses on the carburetors who is on the good side of the throttle valve. this can be used for balancing (I hope because it is between valve and piston.) so I have two connections what i need.

Reconnect the carter vent hoses again after balancing, I do not now how the engine acts when these hoses are off I have to try.

Some did put a V8 in a 2200TC, but is this not a heavenly rebuild of the chassis to carrying that engine?
I am just curious, not that I want to do this but nice to read. Body part is on other threat now.

I did not find anything about it.

Hi Christopher,
are you saying the only options are: either a clumsy installation at the inlets or a good ear for the suction hiss?

It can also between the butterfly and piston, and not on the manifold itselfs because of the connection between them, I do use now the carter ventilation hose connection who is independent from each other, after balancing I connect the hose again.

I have to try when carbs are on engine again, but is very hot outside now (31 degree) and tomorrow even more (34 degree).

I think kees' revised plan using the vents is a perfectly good scheme. For a long time people used one of two devices which measured the airflow at the entry to the carburetter, and these worked well for synchronising them. I have not seen one for sale for some years now . I am afraid I have always used the tube in the ear method !

I will try it out when the carbs are on.

I do wait now for the seals for choke axle and throttle axel.

Wel after the haulover of the carbs, things get better, I have now to do tune, check engine etc, what is does is
it do sing on a high tone? looks like the timing chain.

oke, it wil be on the good track, sound of engine is some loud, but is because of recorder a mobil phone.

Hi All

carbs are ready, I have not a succes with the bottles, dit not work well, but these manometer did fine.

I did use olive oil for manometer so when ready I can bake meat in it  .

It is so that it leaks oil on front oil seal, hmm big bold there, tight difficult to loose? after so much years...

And a rotten heater, this has to be relplaced otherwise I get wet feet.
