And, knowing how you operate, you'll have made a ruddy great profit, if only through selling that private plate separately... I dunno how you do it but you seem to come up smelling of roses and money every time, while the rest of us (if buying at all) seem to be buying money-pit rotboxes!
I actually sold the car complete with the plate, after a short attempt to sell the plate and refusing an offer for it that I shouldnt have!
As for a ruddy great profit, well size is relative innit!
I bought it,recomissioned it, spent a good few £££'s on it,used it, if I were to have charged for the time I spent on it,then I probably broke even, maybe earnt a few quid.
I was informed that the buyer put the plate up for sale for £3k and thats more than he paid for the car! Dunno if he sold it though?
I never buy money pit rot boxes,as theres no point,or profit in it,and I check them out first!
I will buy a rot box,but only if its worth breaking for spares!
I buy to recomission and sell on,or as an investment,or buy then sell as there is something I want out of it as in the case of the 1967 VW Karmann Ghia, for a reg number I REALLY wanted!!
I look at classic cars for people wanting to buy, find parts for people, and occasionally fix their cars for them as well.
It helps being in the right place at the right time, having the spare cash and a place to store 1 or 2 cars + not being married!!
OH by the way,,
I have just bought a complete set of 4 original door/window glass outer seals for £35 inclusive of p/p!
