Green paint on engine brackets

I just cleaned the engine of my car (but not finished yet), and can see remnants of green paint on the two front brackets and the distributor cover. Does anyone know if there is any name and number on this green paint?

The side plates don't seem to be painted, only bare metal or silver coloured. I don't think the engine has been renovated before, so I think it has the original side plates. Should it be this "metal colour" as original or should it be pained in duck egg blue?

I think that's mould... The lifting brackets should be black afaik and I would have thought the distributor shield was just tin or galvanised finish. The side plates weren't painted, new replacements seem to be cadmium plated or similar so have a slightly goldish colour.
The engine block was duck egg blue, most of the bolt on steel brackets, pulleys and mounts were black. Fan was either red or yellow. Rocker cover on 2.2 was either black or grey. Rest of it was unpainted alloy. I think the engine backing plate was black too but I have seen some with traces of duck egg blue overspray on them. Not sure if it's original.

It's very hard to find original colour images of the engine.

Thanks for the information. I want the engine to look as original as possible. I'll take a look at the greenish color again.

The front bracket on my '68 TC had green paint on it too. Mostly black but a brush stroke of green.

The " duck egg blue" is in fact called " admiralty grey " and is available from Landrover paint suppliers, and as engine paints go, is a very handsome colour. I was somewhat unauthentic when I rebuilt my TC engine, and painted the whole block with it, and also, completely unauthentically, the head also, which actually looks quite pleasant

The original side plates had a fairly heavy cad plate, and were gray. Replacement have goldish zinc chromate plating. All brackets should be very low gloss black. Not flat though. The original paint was very thin, often barely covering. I have seen rear plates with the block colour on them, but it has always looked like overspray to me.

If it's a 10:1 engine there should be a 10:1 sticker on the left hand side plate.

My plates are still bright grey in places (however a bit over exposed in the picture), so I suppose they are the original plates. I'll soda blast them and hope to get rid of the dark grey layer which now almost cover the plates. If I can't bring out the original surface finish, I will paint them with Eastwood silver cad paint.

I will paint the brackets in satin black temp coating.

Yes that is evident when looking at my engine. The duck egg blue is a very thin layer. I will try to use a small sponge when I paint the block, to prevent getting a too thick layer of paint.

Yes this can be seen on my back plate where the lifting point is, and also on the outer edges of the side plates, see picture above. The machined front of the block is also sprayed, but not as thoroughly as the sides. It almost looks like that it wasn't intended to be painted.
