High torque or recon'd starter motor??

Hi all

Nice easy question for you all. Is there any point in replacing my knackered starter motor ('73 3500S) with a high torque one? A recon will work out to be a fair bit cheaper than a high torque unit but I'm wondering if there is any pay off in using a high torque starter.

Thanks all

I think there is a power-saving advantage but if your battery & starter are up to scratch it's academic & there is a big price differential as you say.
I considered one for my 1800 A60 but went with getting mine reconditioned in the end.

I have one and frankly I don't see the point - it was fitted when I bought the car. It looks like it was fitted to make some space for the tubular headers but if it isn't room you are after, There isn't really any benefit.
