How to balance carburettors on my 2000TC engine ?

I had a 2000TC many years ago and used to do mixture with a Gunson Colour Tune and I balanced tham using the old piece of pipe and my ear! It is pretty easy to see when they are balanced as all the vibration goes away and it will run smoothly! I do also remember that however you did it, it was always out again within a month or so. It was a very old though even then though (1983) and didn't get much love!!Left 1.jpgFront left 4.jpg

It is a very nice car and needs lots of attention and cuddles, it’s just like an old house, there’s always something to work on.

I hope to find a balancing device coming week, who knows.

Cheers,

Wilfred

Good evening,

I managed to find a company that sells the balancer I’m looking for. It’s called Moss-Europe in London. They are willing to send it to our office in Solihull next week where I will be staying then.

So, that’s very promising. Can’t wait to try it when I get back. Updates will follow!

Thanks for all the replies.

That’s a UniSyn, I use this model myself and I’m very happy with its performance.

Hello again,

Tomorrow I will find by balance device I hope, fingers crossed.

One other question though,
Does anyone know a classic car scrapyard close to where I am now, which is Daventry/Coventry?

Maybe I can find the missing spring my engine no longer has :hmm:

Thanks,

Wilfred
