Ian Wilson (1965-2013) Rest in Peace.

Ian was on hand on many occasion for when I needed spares for the old girl. Always friendly, fair and knowledgable. From the tributes on this thread and his gleaming NADA cars, one could see he was clearly passionate about the P6.

Ian sadly went far too young. RIP mate. My heatfelt thoughts to his family.

Ian was a friend to us all. We didn't need to know him for long to know that he cared. We will all miss him and will always miss him. Ian only wanted to enjoy the P6 and to help others to enjoy our P6s. A gent and a friend.

Bri.

Rest in peace Ian. I could never have a short conversation with him. Always incredibly helpful and patient.

My condolences to his family.

Steven

A little bit of Ian lives on in the parts, and particularly the advice, that he contributed to Brown Rover. It's a terrible day when such an important member of the P6 community leaves us. It is people like Ian who've ensured I've stuck by my often frustrating, always lovable old Rover for nearly 18 years.

Condolences to Ian's family. I wish there was more I could do.

I met Ian once, in 2004, when he serviced my £1 project car so I could get it and my student paraphernalia safely from London to Newcastle and the ferry home. Over the years I've called him numerous times for insight and advice, and I always knew what to do next once I hung up. He always had time to chat, and was helpful in every way. Not a month ago he sent me some NADA parts I could probably never get my hands on elsewhere if I tried.

Rest in peace Ian.

Rest in peace Ian. I only met him a couple of times but enough to know he was a thoroughly good guy. My sincere condolences to his family.

Terribly sad news. My heartfelt condolences go out to Ian's wife and kids.

I never got to meet Ian in person, and now I never will, which is my loss. He was always so helpful and knowledgeable - I spent more than a few hours chatting with him on the phone, the only thing missing was the "face to face" and a nice cuppa - he would even offer to ring me, even when he knew there was no sale in the offing, he was just happy to chat and help out.

You will be sadly missed mate - may you Rest In Peace.

Alan.

I never had the pleasure of meeting or speaking to Ian, but it is obvious from what I have read previously here, and in other threads, that he had a profound effect on people, due to his friendliness and vast knowledge of all things P6.

I am sure he will live on within this community, by the continuation of the knowledge he gave, being passed on to others when needed, by those he originally helped.

RIP Ian. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Oh!
My!
SO sad.

I noticed the "takeover" of Rover Classics, but did not think it through.
To discover the reasons for that this late is quite disturbing and embarrassing.

I did talk to Ian a few times on the phone, and he was very helpful indeed.
I'll buy some parts from Wins, so I will remember him every time I think of Jimmy... .

My thoughts are with him and his family.
