A year to the day, since the last one, and I've bought another V8 engined Rover. This time, it's a P6 3500 auto, series 2. It's a 1975 car, in Monza red, with black boxpleat leather, sundym glass, 3500S badging, and steering wheel, bootmount spare wheel, SD1 Vanden Plas alloy wheels (in gold ) which has no tax, or MOT. It also comes with spare cylinder heads, and, tubular manifolds, and four spare fibreglass wings! The owner has sold the bumpers, exhaust, and petrol tank, but I've already tracked down a rear bumper, and petrol tank! I bought a couple of bits for my 2000 from the seller, and, when the price of the 3500 was reduced to a level I could justify, I bought it, unseen. I've paid for the car, and will be collecting it in the next week or so, on a car trailer.
The car is one that I remember seeing at shows when I was younger, and, it still looks okay, but is a project, and isn't perfect.
Here's a photo of the car, taken in 2006, by me. It doesn't look this good now, but, it should be an interesting project to be getting on with! The wheels in the photo are also gone, replaced with series 2 SD1 wheels.
If anyone of you know anything about the car, I'd be interested to hear more!
