I am not new to classics, but am a newbie to P6's.
I have a newly acuired 1975 2200 sc. The gearbox became quite noisy over a few weeks of use - sounding more like a 50's van - whining particularly in 1st ,2nd and 3rd. Also it had a knocking noise front the clutch are which disappeared when any pressure is put on the clutch pedal.
Checking out the fluid levels it was clear that it had been filled with pink ATF fluid which I changed and refilled with Miller's 20W/50.
It has reduced the whining by 95% and the knocking by about 75%, but has aquired the habbit of jumping out of 3rd on the overrun ( I don't recall it doin that before) ..any pointers?
