MotaLita

Cheers for that, all done and a bonus as it was never set right and would cancel left turns but only some right turns :D

I have been lusting after a Moto-Lita wheel for Brown Rover. Pardon my ignorance, but looking at their website I'm not entirely sure what I need to buy. Do I need to include a boss (they have two options to confuse me - "No boss required" and "3500 & S")? I'd like a badged centre cap - is it 3.5" or 4.5"? Do I need a spacer kit?

It doesn't help that I've had some confusing information from the lady who has answered my website query.

You will need the steering boss part no. B34, same part for all P6 models
You won't require a spacer
Center cap size will depend on which steering wheel you order

They are not shy with their prices, are they?
Mark 3 - Laminate Rim (Riveted), 14 inch, polished with holes, plastic cap and a stove enamelled boss for the P6 is 239.52 vat incl.
Mark 9 Mahogany, dished, 14 inch, polished with holes, plastic cap and a stove enamelled boss for the P6 is 267.00 vat incl.
Eagle 3 Leather in 14 inches, plain polished spokes, boss etc comes in at 240.60 incl.

Having said that, they do look really nicely made wheels. It will be a hard choice to pay twice what the car cost me for a steering wheel, though.....

I think you have to look at the purchase price of the car as an extraordinary bargain, and the real cost being in making it how you want it! There is absolutely no common sense in buying an expensive flashy steering wheel - the old one works just fine - but it's so tempting.

I was always visualising a wood rim, but having looked at the pics above I'm starting to lean towards the leather rim. It looks really smart, much nicer in the context of a P6 cabin than I thought it would.

My car's wheel is an absolute mess. The plastic is cracked at the base of the spokes on one side and the centre
cover bit is missing altogether, so a replacement is essential.
In all fairness, I have owned the car since the early 90's so the price is a bit off kilter reference the cost
of a new steering wheel.

Ah, yes.... 'Er indoors!
Fortunately, I am busy with some home improvements that will gather
sufficient brownie points to allow that and other purchases.

I've just had a kitchen extension built and installed all the kitchen units myself, (including building a rather nice island from scratch). What do you think I should expect as a minimum that I can now spend on my classics :D

After all the hard work, John and Mrs John sit down with a cup of tea to admire their new home improvements.

See my project thread, I recently obtained a 70s corvette c3 wheel and am working on it currently
