Thanks guys, many good tips here. I will check wear on the valve gear as well, but if I stick to the tin head gasket, I don't think I will have to shim the valve gear pedestals. I have also heard that the 3,9 cam is giving a nice upgrade with regards to horsepower, and I know for sure I have to get a new chain and sprocket.
I haven't thought about matching exhaust ports but that i a good idea. I have done that on my other Rover, just don't know how good it is yet!
