As I understand it the cars were shipped out from Solihull, part assembled with the roofs cut off, then completed using local materials in South Africa, to get past the anti-apartheid sanctions in place.

chrisyork said:Yep, Land Crab and Princess 2200 use the E6 in short stroke / narrow bore / small valve format. In this configuration it's a very sweet smooth running engine, but a bit asthmatic. It's also transverse which makes it a bit of an event to use in a P6. Far better break an Aussie or ZA Marina with the E6! And the Volvo engine is all alloy.
