Hi Guys and Gals just bought a rover p6v8 auto after seling my MGB Roadster after two year free motoring.
Not going to get the same with the big girl as radiator went on the way home, fuel gauge not working, the temp guage stopped on the way home too.
BUT she ran well almost all the way home now looking for parts etc incl tqx oil if anyone can help i am in north london need radiator, offside dipped beam.
Hope to go to a meet in the future does anyone know whats happening with the rover p6 club i tried to join but have have difficulty they dont seem to be
operating at the moment.

Love the car

Robert

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Both clubs are currently operating - try p6club.com and p6roc.com.
They are different so worth researching and seeing which one suits you...

Would like to see some pictures of your new car...

Is TQX for the autobox? If so any fluid marked ATF-G or ford M2C-33F will do the job.

If for the engine a decent 20/50 with correct ZDDP is the way ahead.

Rich.

Welcome to the forum Robert.
There's a great bunch of people on here with great knowledge. You can'tbe to far from me being in north london. If you like you could attend our meets and shows. You can find most of the details on this very forum .hope you find your parts soon and dont forget to post some pics :D

Hi Just a few bits of info on my rover she has been off the road since 1988 from what i can understand it was owned by an engineer and she is so solid and no rust, back on the road last year bought by someone to use as wedding car but decided to sell and i am the lucky guy (i hope) Where do you guys meet up how often etc.

She looks really nice Robert :D
If your interested this Sunday is Rover day at Whitewebbs Museum in Enfield, some of us will be meeting for 8.30am at Mcdonalds Bullsmoor Lane Enfield for Breakfast/coffee(optional) Then convoying down the road to the museum for 9-9.30 ready for 10am when show opens to the public.
There are several monthley and by monthly meets I attend three of them quite regularly and also go to the Ace Cafe on classic car nites every 2nd tuesday of the month when not clashing with our bimonthly meet at pinner. If you like you can pm me through the forum what area of north london your in and i will let you know what meets and shows we are attending so you can come along with or with out the rover upto you :)

Greetings Robert

Nice looking car you've got yourself. Lots of friendly advice here when you need it....and a fair bit of friendly banter too :D

Luckily your car is not almond so you should be alright

Dave

Welcome Robert,
very tidy looking motor, and you have come to the best place for any advice and friendship
Don't worry about the Almond reference, your're quite safe in monochrome, the naughty boys pick on us Almond owners

Now their IS a car, welcome to the forum , will will be at home straight away as you obviously have impeccable taste in both the model of car and of course the colour. We had a small debate here recently and I decided white in whichever shade is the best colour suited to the P6. Their was a least colour suited as well but we agreed not to mention it as the Almonders get hot under the collar :D Welcome again to the font of knowledge which is here.

Well i am already getting the hang or this forum thanks for all the greetings, cant make it this week as need a new radiator just bought one on ebay for £20.50 incl postage hope its ok live and hope of course. Well this colour thing is a bit of a topic i can see but if i had a choice i might have gone for red ( no swearing ) with black roof but i am glad i got a white one. Whats the best way to sort out a non working fuel gauge guys any tips pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

if you have more than one gauge not working I'm guessing the voltage regulator might be a possibility? Not an expert though... Do you have a manual with the wiring diagram for your model?

Rich

Thanks for the advice i am trying to send a couple of messages direct but they seem to be stuck in the outbox, i will get the hang of it soon i am sure.
i know the Museum in enfield although not been so may make it this week. Almond yes er um come back to that one sorry if you have one of course.
My car is not so good the bonnet needs repainting and the vynal roof is a little shabby but generally she is so solid. i am sure she will cost me but hell lovely to drive.
Rockdemon and V8Guy let me know if you get the replies.

Messages stay in your outbox until the recipient has read them so don't worry too much about that. They'll go eventually.

Lovely looking car, as you have probably already noted there is a thread running that has a roof re-vinyl. Gauges and the like are usually very simple fixes, the instrument pannel is very easy to remove if needed, there are few dramas with p6 wiring except maybe for dodgy fuse boxes.
Red certainly is a lovely colour in P6's, white however can look fab so long as its all well polished and the chrome gleaming dont know if the same applies to almond coloured cars

Welcome and enjoy the friendly and extremely helpful members that frequent this wonderful resource.

Mick, Please pay attention(bet you've heard that a few times in your life   ) you've duplicated what Dave has already said
