Ok this is what happened i dont think it was binding properly when you checked it guy, i just went out for a seven mile run with the pipe disconnected from the white bit the brakes were fine not that muc difference when connected. the brakes seemed better to start with but when she warmed up and i braked more i eventually went down a hill put it in neutral and pressed hard she stopped fine and did not more for a little white, still binding but i think a little less again. its difficult to feel it. But still binding.

Irrespective of the pedal height , could the master cylinder piston be sticking in the bore just enough to prevent pressure being released when you take your foot off the pedal ?
Cure would be to replace/overhaul the master cylinder

have you inspected the calipers? Id pull the pads out and check the pistons go back? And copper slip everything before you re-fit them.

Front calipers have been replaced by the garage with refurbished ones so should be ok i will check the master cylinder this is the next step i think. I assume an overhaul kit will do the job or can i inspect and clean without ?
Regards
Robert :D :D
