hi all,
where do I start ? I have not felt good since the beginning of the year. firstly struggling to swallow food. I was eventually referred to the hospital to have a camera down my throat, which confirmed I have oesophagus cancer. after ct scans it has been confirmed it had not spread, which was excellent news. the waiting of around three weeks to hear that was unbearable, but good news when it came. this week I have been for another more advanced camera down my throat which takes pictures of how deep it has gone. yesterday I had a petscan, so was radio active and had to ship my children out for the night ( it was very quiet at home last night ) hopefully by the middle of next week I should know what treatment I will be having. my wife has been talking to my McMillan nurse and it could be chemo then an operation and then maybe more chemo. I shall keep you all informed.
to those of you who know me, I was 18 stone and am now under 15 stone, I don't recommend this diet  all I can say is in one respect I am glad I was overweight as with struggling to eat I have had plenty in reserve to go at.

I was hoping to have my NADA done for the national, but this shall now not be done. depending on what stage I am at I will still try and get down. my lads car has arrived and he wants to get stuck in to his, but I keep putting him off at the moment. If I am feeling well enough I will have to get the 18,000 mile 3500 auto tested and get down in that.

Shocked to hear this Ian, but it seems they've caught it before it spreads.

My partner is dealing with breast and bone cancer now, so I know how hard these things hit.

You're in my thoughts mate...keep fighting!

Cheers,
Stan

Looks like they caught it Early Ian. Not much I can say except stay positive, we are all thinking of you and the family. Take care and hopefully you can make the trip to Coughton Court.

As the others have said, at least you can take strength from the fact they've caught it early.
My thoughts are with you. I can't imagine what you must be going through. Stay strong and fight the bastard off.

Michael

Really sorry to hear this, but at least now you have a diagnosis the treatment can begin putting you on the road back to good health.

Really sorry to read of your news. The plus side is the cancer has been spotted early. From experience the McMillan nurses are very supportive and helpfull. I wish you a speedy recovery.
