Hey everyone -
I'm a new forum member in the USA and I've been offered a couple of P6 2000TC projects. One has a spun motor bearing and I'm asking a question about that in the engine forum. The other one though has had some damage to the roof/windscreen frame from a fallen tree (yes really). If anyone could advise me on how bad a repair this would be I'd be very gratfeul.
I'm going to try and attach a picture. Basically it was hit by a small tree in the middle of the windscreen frame. I haven't seen the car yet, but I have a bunch of photos. I think I can get a spare roof panel and a spare windshield from the owner, so that’s not an issue: without the spare roof there’s no way I’d do a deal. The problem then is: how difficult might it be to straighten out the windscreen frame? I could send it to a body shop I guess, but I like to do all my own work if possible. It doesn’t LOOK like the frame is very badly squished but it’s tough to tell from a photo…….
Any advice would be appreciated: I’m pretty wary of this repair as I know how accurate the frame has to be for the windscreen to fit.
Oh, and the photo I uploaded seems to have come out HUGE so you may need to scrool down the pic to see the damage in the middle.......
Thanks!!
