rp6c rally beamish may 20th 2012

hi all beamish on sunday hope u all have a safe trip. there is a fish and chip shop at beamish now so some more places for food lets hope its not raining we got over 50 cars :D :D :D

I'm afraid it's looking unlikely that I'll now be able to come - even though I'm booked in & I've got Hazel cleaned especially!

Unfortunately, my wife Karen has fallen & cut her hand big-style so she's bandaged up & will need to be driven to hospital again tomorrow for it to be checked, rather that than risking infection etc :(

I was looking forward to Beamish & seeing you guys & gals again, but hope to at some other rallies this year.

I hope you have a good day!

I have a spare ticket if anyone wants it? It's free. I bought a ticket for my Dad but he doesn't fancy going this year.

Will

If only I lived closer to the north east :? I would have snapped up the offer and even paid for the ticket. Hopefully next year....

Have a great time all .... we were there 2 years ago and had a fantastic time, but now seems to clash with our spring holidays (only just got back).

Cheers,
Bri.

Hi all I hope that you all havea great day. I will be thinking of beamish whilst I am at work today. I hope to be there next year with my car once she is back on the road.

Well 'Chatterbox' got there and back and we very much enjoyed the day, never been to Beamish before very nice, and all those nice 3500's and series 1 2000's but only tatty old 'Chatterbox' with a 2200, we felt very special!
It was great to see so many great cars, our's definately has a few issues but over time we will solve them, but to see so many cars that people have spent time and money on and being driven, fantastic!
A big thank you to MIck and Rob who stuck with us on the A1 as 'Chatterbox' was misbehaving ever so slightly, also to Mark Gray who ended up digging in his toolbox for the feeler gauge so that we could check the points (trying not to make a habit of having to check 'Chatterbox') and finally to Angie who was as welcoming as ever, you would think we were old friends, not new members who have only met her twice at the most! What a friendly club I only wish more clubs were as welcoming and friendly as this one, cheers guy's

regards

Ian R 2200TC (Chatterbox) CHA14T

Great to meet all the classic rover forum members well done test rider ,dave , quattro hope u all had a safe journey home :D :D :D p s next year were your trouser happy days

Great day, big thanks to The Three Musketeers, also to Janet and as always Mark Gray, Angie, and of course Maria all your work is greatly appreciated, even got the sun to shine all day. We went up ia Lancaster to meet up with John and travel together which was very enjoyable, John i did burn my head on the way back lol The standard of P6's this year was superb, probably the best set I've seen, well done all. Well done Paul, a very worthy winner. Great that Chatterbox made the show and back as well. I Also received a very er not sure what to call it " award " from a nameless ( for now ) forum member which was unexpected but much appreciated in a funny sort of way. Pic to follow.
Thanks again to all for a brilliant day. See you soon, mick.

Got home and found that it had been overcast and spitting with rain most of the day?

We had a brilliant day with brilliant weather. - I even managed to get sunburnt, and it hurts  (My wife is now married to a redhead, no hair, just a red head  )

Here's Sparky basking in the sunshine

Got second prize for series two P6s, :D :D - very well done to Paul whose face, when I told him that he had won, was a picture 8) That will teach you not to turn up for the award ceremony.

Here's all of them

Had a good look around the town but declined the 1 1/2 hour queue for the chips.

Will certainly go next year, very well organised and made to feel very welcome indeed.

Thanks all

Richard

Well, that was a day out and a half!

We all had a fantastic time - nice cars, great people and a great museum too - which was so interesting I missed the awards presentation where EMF got this....

1st place Series II P6!

I saw Quattro with a rosette and went over to ask him who won? "You" he said. To which replied "behave, stop taking the p***" or some such words. To say I was surprised is an understatement but it was a nice feeling to win, so thanks and sorry I wasn't there on time.

A good job was done by the organisers too who made everyone welcome and I'd recommend anyone from further a field to make the journey next year. I nearly made it there and back from Nottingham on one tank of fuel too.

was great to meet some of you guys, and Richard's right, Paul's face was hilarious, as was his reaction to "you've won" I didn't quite manage to introduce myself to everyone from here, but Jenni & I had a great day. She's also massively sunburnt, and got thoroughly overexcited by a tram. No prizes for me though :p even though I was the only brown one, and the only S1 V8  Frilly doors probably count against me, but the standard of other cars was phenomenal.

Definitely going again next year :) I've got some pics that need sorting through then I'll stick some up!

Rob

Looks like I missed a really good day. I didn't make it as my seatbelts have been refusing to work lately and I didn't want to take the chance. Instead I spent Sunday fitting new Securons I ordered last week. I had hoped to have them sorted in time, but after 'stripping' the 7/16" threads for the anchor bolts the job took longer than expected  . Well done to Paul and Richard though! :D
