Now the years ahead are fewer than the ones Ive left behind , wife and I are looking to settle in a more supportive environment after 45yrs of farm life .. A big decision .
We have looked around various places we thought we would like to live in our later years - Oz , an island in our gulf and all sorts of crannies around NZ .
It looks like it may be Devonport on the north shore of Auckland city .
This area has it all : beaches , parks , cafes , no traffic , a gaggle of classic cars/owners and friendly natives .
As a trial we have taken over an apartment in this old power station . Bit different to the farm , and after 1 month Im actually enjoying the move .
The farm is only a 45min commute to shift stock crank up the chainsaw and drop the odd tree .
Ive kept my options open and can always go back to plan "b" if it doesn't work out .
Old Yella actually enjoys the cafe life and her new garage .
I reckon I could get 20 odd P6 in behind that opening !!
