Well, if it did sell for £4K, then that was a real coup
(de grâce) & that just goes to show you what an inadequate description can do for the price of your car. I think the previous owner/vendor did himself absolutely no favours & undervalued the car by a pretty hefty margin, which is surprising if he'd owned the car for fourteen years. I would have thought he'd have had a bit more of a handle on the value of a car like this.
How would it have gone?

Apparently there's a four-figure reserve on it. Up to £4,600 at present. That'll pay for the valeting process.
