Oops, should have mentioned it has electronic ignition.

Something in the back of my brain comes up with 'lean mixture or air leak in inlet system'.....not sure why but there you go. Spray something the engine can digest , maybe WD40 or similar, on all the inlet system joints and see if the idle changes....When does it occur - idling, or cruising?

Choke not going fully off? ie one of the jets sticky on HS6 carbs ?
