What has likely happened is the little plastic bushings in the hinges have worn enough that the door sags just a hair, hence the wear on the striker. Once the door is closed, it's lifted by the striker to the proper alignment. Adjust the striker ( just loosen the three screws (#3 Pozi) a little bit and close the door to realign the striker to the door latch, then tighten them again. If the widow frames now look askew a bit, that points to hinge wear. In which case you have to adjust the front hinges and it's starting to turn into more than an hour & a couple of beers job.
