Where's Pilkie

Good news! :D
Ive got the date,,21st Oct,and its for a CT scan not the long camera! PHEW!
Still got to have a special 3 day diet and laxatives pre scan, but at least it will be over the weekend!
Once the scan is done and they know whats what, then they decide the course of treatment needed, which hopefully wont mean an operation!
But whatever needs to be done will be done!

I am also booked in on 14th Oct at 12 noon for an operation on my left hand bent fingers, which is dupytrens contracture.

Well its about time I got ready to leave! :|
Only allowed to drink water this morning before the op,so had a good late sunday meal. :)
Hopefully I will be back by 6pm as its only day surgery, but they may keep me in overnight if they feel its required!
The last time I had an operation I was a baby!
Only been put to sleep once since, that was when I broke my wrist a few years ago!

TTFN!!

Hope everything goes really well Pilkie. The good think about being out to it is that you sleep through all the business, wake up and it is all over, sit about for a bit then head home.

All the best,
Ron.

Cheers Ron.

What gets me nervous is that they can do the op by just knocking out your arm/hand,while you are fully awake! :|
I would prefer a nice kip while they do it though! :)

All done and back home! :)
12hrs without food and I am starving,so got a microwave roast dinner and a 6 pack of cream cakes!
No pain yet, that will come tomorrow when the nerve block wears off!! :|

I'm pleased you were only subjected to a scan. Normally after endoscopy you have to make sure they give the probe a good wipe before the gastroscopy.

I will put it down to time lag!!
But this was the op for my bent fingers!! :)
Scan next monday, and yes I am grateful its not the camera,,,yet!!!
Non gory piccy! :D

Good to hear that you're back home Pilkie. :) One of my former neighbours had to have a tendon operation on one of his hands. Before, his fingers were noticably not as they should have been, afterwards it was like new. He was most pleased. Not totally sure if yours and his were the same, hopefully you'll be very happy with the result.

Ron.

Ugh! Saw it by accident looking at the photo of the headrest! But it is interesting isn't it. I try and relate these things to engineering as far as possible, and the hand is about as complex as it gets in that respect.

Hope it's not too throbbing!

Chris

Actually no real pain, just a minor bit of throbbing, and very slight numbness, tingle to my pinkie.
I have reset headrest pic link so nobody else gets a shock!

Looks like neat work they did. As long as your fingers remain pinkish and if you press
on them the spot goes white and then quickly recovers to it's pinkish colour again
then all is good. If it stays white or recovers slowly, then you are not getting good infusion
and you should get to the Doc ASAP.

Alright PINKIE?! Wee while no see! Sorry to hear you`ve been in and out the `ossie mate. If I`d known I would`ve come round with a Dominos and ate the lot in front of you the other day!! I`ll give you a bell soon and pop round with it at some point. All the best mate.

CT scan all done!
Taking a while for my gut to deflate!

Hi Drew.
I may see you at Shepton if you are going?
Got a new Rover yet?

Forgotten the date, but I`ve got a ticket! No P6 yet, I reckon it`ll be after the white Imp is sold, and it`s not finished yet. I`m looking for a police spec P6 for my film, or an appropriate one that could be made to look like a Met-mobile!?

Well ive just had a call from the hospital!!
The early results show a thickening of the left bowel wall, and they need me to come in for a colonoscopy and biopsy, which is the camera up the @#$&,and a full body CT scan.
Apparently this thickening can be caused by,or be, at least 1/2 dozen things, but to find out for sure, further investigation is required.
Could be as simple as something that I eat that doesnt agree with my gut!!
Only 1 way to find out whats going on in there,so will just have to wait and see what the next round of more thorough testing show up.
