Where's Pilkie

Dave, I have access to an expanding reamer should it be required.
Seriously, all the best and I hope it's a quick an easy fix.

Stitches in my hand came out today! :)
That was more painfull than its been for the last 2 weeks!
All looks good and I can nearly flex it as it should be!
I just need to keep up the physio to stretch things back some more!
Hope to be back to work for the 1st couple of days next week,as the other proceedure needs me to be off for wed/thurs,as I will have to be close to a loo at all times!
Still waiting on the full body CT scan date!
I am not yet on a permanent fulltime contract of employment, only an 8hr week temp one!
Fortunately as I have been doing temp full time, due to some staff changes, the boss has been more than happy to accomodate me as he wants me to go fully employed around Xmas/NY time,if/when these changes become permanent.

Hi all.
Due to circumstances beyond my control,I was admitted to hospital late on Sunday eve!
Without going into graphic detail, "Imagine turning on a tap!",,, it was to do with my ongoing bowel problem, and they almost had to give me a pint of blood!!
Was kept in,no food, bowel rest, till todays colon camera session could be done to find the problem.
Problem found, growth?,swelling?,hernia? on bowel, "No I wont show you the pics!",,10 x biopsy's taken,CT scan on monday to check rest of body!
The results will be in next week, but its safe to say that they will have to remove about a foot of bowel to sort it out.
Just got to wait a couple of weeks for the Doc to contact me with the info and hopefully a date to operate!
Glad they have got to the bottom of it though!

Right time for a nice long bath watching a film, and a decent meal!!
Tomorrow PLK 1E will get a good wash and polish as he has been sat in the hosp car park under a tree for near a week!

TTFN!!

Sorry to read that Dave! I hope you have a short wait and a shorter recovery from the op. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Steven

Geez, Pilkie, that is not good at all. I hope the quack gets back to you ASAP
and gets you up and running with minimal fuss and bother.
Thinking of you, sir.

Sorry to hear your news.

Main thing is to stay positive. It's good that it's going to be sorted.

Hope all goes well with the CT scan and that you can get this sorted soon and get on the road to a speedy recovery.

Colin

Well I finally went back to work monday after a total of a month off,and all went well on the day!
After work,I had my full torso CT scan, now ive gotta wait for the docs to get all results together, and make a diagnosis and formulate a course of treatment ,hopefully will find out early next week whats going on!
All that time off,and lack of activity showed today as I was a bit knackered to say the least, but got through it!
Wont take long to get back into my stride!

There’s no easy way to let you know the news,so ive posted it on FB and the forum!

Just had the results from the specialist nurse, and it is a cancer in the sigmoid colon/large bowel.
Apparently its the 3rd most common cancer in men!
They want to do some more tests,,,ie, an MRI and another special CT scan,as they have seen a lesion/nodule in the liver and also 2 in the lungs.
These could easily be down to my heavy drinking and smoking in the past, and nothing to worry about, but they could be related to the bowel cancer.
Until these tests have been done,a course of treatment cannot be implemented.
It could be just an operation on the gut to chop it out,or an op and a course of chemotherapy!
Will have to wait and see!!
So as soon as I know more,I will let you all know!

I know its not the best news, but better to know than not!

That's awful news. Well we're here, and if ever you want to chat you know how to get me if it helps. If there's anything I can do to help or support you just let me know. Hope it's the least severe thing it can be.

I really hope it all goes well Pilkie, I really do!

Look after yourself and get better real soon!

My sincere best wishes,
Ron.
