'The Professionals' preference for Ford over BL cars

Ford had already got the right idea with The Sweeney when they agreed with the producers that the good guy characters should be seen in Fords , whereas the " baddies" would always drive alternative makes, usually old Jags. Ford followed through each series Ford Consul Gt, then Granada Ghia and...

which 2 seater open top classic?

Another car I'd consider... Fiat X1/9. 1500cc, low band of car tax, 40mpg, mid-engined handling dynamics,(blow the doors off any MGB / MIDGET/SRITFIRE round corners) 2 boots! and targa top practicality- so less likely some toe-rag to knife your soft top. Prices vary considerably £500 for MOT'D...

    Yay or Nay?

No I didn't mean the "original" Interceptor. Jensens' cars before the "later " Interceptor , were pretty ugly . That all changed when the Italians, Vignale and Touring got involved. That super back window ! What a signature! Pure 1960's/70's hedonism. In the early 1970's I remember my father...

    Yay or Nay?

Interesting, a modern more streamled take on the Interceptor, although not dis-similar to modern Jaguar coupe or Aston. The original Interceptor was such an iconic shape, that you immediately picture it as soon as the name of Jensen is mentioned, its hard to think it could ever be bettered...

    Beautiful 1964 car

As I live not too far from this copperleaf car , and have been considering purchase of my first P6 , I too, went to see this car. The respray had the patina of an older paint job, generally very nice, although there were a couple of areas which would need attention ; 1) on the offside rear wing...

    Top Gear-Who's Driving?

According to The Mail on Sunday today, it turns out that Clarkson and his chums do not do the driving when it comes down to the fast stuff as televised on their made up circuit, and leave it to professional drivers instead. To quote the article, "they are tv presenters not professional drivers."...

    Rover for sale in Italy

Yes, of course , the Italian plates, particulary on the old cars were a lot smaller on the front than uk plates. Remember they were fitted to one side , rather than centrally, on Alfa Romeos such as the 1950's Guilietta (as in "Day of the Jackal", starring Edward fox.), or the 105 series Guilia...

Top Gear John Prescott Interview -P6 owner

I suppose a lot of you must have seen the last of the current series of Top Gear. A feisty edition!! Particulary the John Prescott interview, which made good TV if nothing else! Interesting to note that despite owning 11 Jags in all , he once turned to a Rover TC , can only be a P6 I would...

The royal wedding bank hol scam!!!

I distinctly remember the additional "bank holiday" when Charles and Diana got married. I was paid for it then, as was my girlfriend of the time, in fact I was under the impression everybody was, rightly or wrongly. Perhaps there was a few more bob in the kitty then. I'm working it this year...
