    S1/S2 Panels interchangaable?

I feel like I should know the answer to this, but having a blonde/senior moment. Are the s1 & S2 panels interchangable aside from obvious cosmetic differences? Particularly doors and rear panels?

Thanks John, The oil filer is of no concern, it clears the existing cross member and will certainly clear the new one. We have a slight hold up now, the dipping tank liner has sprung a leak which may take a few weeks to resolve; things might get awfully quite around here until afterChristmas.

Top Down Would anyone be able to post a top down picture of the P6B engine bay in high res? Ideally one with the bonnet off, but beggars can't be choosers!

There's a good chance we'll remove it entirely and refabricate it; it's only really the shape of the cross member that's the issue. Fortunately we have a plasma cutter in the workshop

When you look at a top down shot of the Rover motor in situ there is not a huge amount of room in there anyway.

The promised top down shot The next shot has the 1UZ exhaust manifolds and engine mounts removed. the engine can come forward about 50mm, so next task is to move engine forward a little and determine whether Alternator and AC compressor can clear the cross member. If it can't then there...

At this stage we are invetigating modifying or replacing the crossmember, but we'll see once we drop the headers and engine mounts off!

Conveniently the original bonnet has a fire sized paint burn in it that will have to be removed as it will never be paintable. This occured when my younger brother came home into the driveway one day quite distressed telling me about how the engine back fired and caught fire. I know this...

Sure does fill the hole! 1UZ suspended in mid air. Quite probably the front cross member willl need "modification"

I'll get some more shots later for you. This should be easy to get at, once we get the engine sitting down by about 100mm and forward by about the same amount. Not a lot of room in there, but you won't be swinging too many cats in the P6 bay anyway.

She's going to need a little massaging! That won't do, although I didn't have much intention of using the standard exhaust manfold anyway it would have been nice if we could have seen her sitting down correctly. This mongrel could prove bothersome!

Sure are plans to run it on there mate, thought it would be a great idea to kick it over occasionally and give it a Rev; especially after a few beers. neighbours would love it! They do just slide in and the weight of the shell is sufficient to keep her all in place. If moving over any serious...

Roof is coming off indeed. To be perfectly honest, although I know the history of the car in terms of ownership; I'm not aware of it's manufacturing origin. I'll get some more detailed pics of the roof up when she comes off.
