Hi Herts2000

Interested to see you say you are fitting a later type steering box in place of an early type. Have I got that right?

Reason I ask is that the later type steering boxes are generally thought to give much heavier steering than the early type. So I shall be very interested to hear what you find.

What was the problem with the original? It is very possible it is easily fixed as manual steering boxes have adjustment within and it's (relatively) easy to change seals.

hi chris i can say i have drove it with the new later type steering box fitted now and what can i say other than wow what an improvement over the old worn out one sooooo much lighter and feels just right

Excellent! I was concerned you might find it overly heavy compared to the original type. So that's a result!
