Calling all Scottish forum members

As I'm pretty local to Moffat, I really hope to get to it, but it depends if I can get the Sunday off work. I really hope I can though! It's a great event!

I'm in Lenzie, Kirkintilloch. Where in Clydebank and would that be the 6th April?

Since the weather's a good bit better, and it's light until 10, do any Scottish members fancy a meet some evening?

Of course, as soon as you said this it started raining again :D
Would like to take you up on this but my car has failed it's MOT and it may be some weeks before I am back on the road.

Give us a few dates Frazzle and I'll see if I can get away. If It's just the 2 of us we can do somewhere halfway. Better if we can get more though.

Dave

Hi, just quickly noticed this on the forum today, I'd be interested in a meet up of sorts, do we know dates?

Fraser

Hi All,

I am based in Edinburgh and hope to have my car up and running in the very near future. I would very much like to be part of the meet.

Cheers,

Chris

Guys,

I had a bit of an idea the other night.

I might post it seperate but how about we arrange a meet to cruise the new tarmac of the M74?

This has been in the planning since before our cars went out of production so quite fitting.

I will try and organise a run with the west coasters. maybe do it on our regular Wednesday night. Would be good to maybe meet at Braehead and then cruise up to the old Calderpark Zoo. Ideally get a photoshoot. enroute.

Colin

This sounds like a good idea, what sort of time, and date, are we thinking?
Glasgow is quite a distance to go every time we have a meet, but it'd be good to do a few in Glasgow!

we meet the 1st wed of the month at 7.30 in clydebank.

Could make it a weekend when there are no shows on. About a dozen of us meet up in the West. There is also a East coast meet at Ratho.

Colin

For me, a meet would ideally be in an evening, as I work weekends usually, but I'll see what I can do according to everyone else's view.

The opening date is the 28th of June. our meeting is Wednesday 6th July.

I am putting the feelers out for either the Wednesday evening or Sunday 3rd day time.

Had a few positive responses but need to speak to some more of the guys.

Colin

M74 tour sounds like a good idea. A P6 on nice new smooth tarmac. Smooth tarmac being a rare thing these days (John McAdam woud be horrified at the state of some of the roads around his place of birth). You will have to put me down as a maybe as it is touch & go if I will have my car MOTd and back on the road.

I had a thought earlier. We could incorporate the run up the M74 with a quick visit to Glasgow's new transport museum?

that was somthing we thought about.

To do both would not be a major prob.

Go west to east turn about then east -west through the clyde tunnel and then the musem. need to check the opening times. it will be very busy when it opens.

They used to do after hours by arrangement. might be a shout

Colin

Did a ring around tonight.

Seems that the local guys are not that keen on the M74 run. I will have a word next meeting about the musem. seems to be very popular at present.
