the link you've posted is the link one not the BB code image code.

I received a PM with an imageshack URL in it, which displayed fine.

hi Rudiger - Yep i'm aware of that problem. Still working on it!

If anybody else spots any issues i'd love to hear about them honest :) It's all fixable now. And when it's all working we'll start making some functional improvements:)

Hi Rich,

The constant flickering when typing a post that has exceeded a certain length, although this will be a functional improvement.

Ron.

Hi, on the subject of pics, in the sticky about '4 cylinder fuel tap fix' the pics are missing.
Is this an image hosting broken link/author deleted problem or were the pics on the forum
site and have gone walkies somewhere during the move?

Colin

Tor : Basically flicker spits out two different link types. One is the html link which wont work on here. The other sort is the BBCOde. The bit that's important is the bit between [ img ] picture.jpg [/img ] (remove spaces).

Wasnt intending to be rude ... sorry :(

Looks like the path doesnt always link correctly. After some rooting in the database i think i've found the files... ( they have funny filenames internally!)

I still dont think i've ever managed to reproduce this. I'll have a play....

hmmm.... looks like the files are missing. the ones in the database arent in the files folder. i'll recheck the site backups just incase we have them somewhere.

I think this may be a victim of the limited space avaialable previously where the oldest pictures are automatically deleted.

I've quadrupled available space in the future but i cant reinstate the old pictures as they arent in the backups.

sorry.

Cool :) that's good :)

I've now made the image attachment quota unlimited so we're ok up to 30gb now. was previously 1gb. hopefully that'll be enough to stop pictures going missing!

Do you want us to start uploading images directly rather than linking via image hosting? I know a few other forums have gone that way in an attempt to prevent broken links when someone deletes their image hosting account.

Dave

Good question. If people do manage to upload pictures directly i can guarantee their safety now, so i guess you're right and that would make for better posts historically! Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Rich

Hi, yes I agree, direct upload gets my vote. When people use pics they usually don't use
a lot of text,( picture, thousand words and all that) so when the pics aren't there it makes
a bit of a nonsense of the thread.
