I couldn't get my car to even start with the pertronix installed (LU-183 - triangular baseplate). I didn't realsise that the dwell adjuster spring had to be removed and the screw turned right in. There still is a 2mm gap between the pickup and the sleeve - but it started first time even in the (very) cold - with no choke! After, that is, I'd sorted out the bad earth from the ignitor base plate to the distributor (the ignition light was not coming on so I new something wasn't quite right).
Also, I didn't get a cable tie in the kit that was mentioned in the instructions....
