if anybody has some-drop me a line,,, :|
I have a Series 1½ bootlid that I don't really need to hang on to. I'll have a look this evening to see if the letters are any good.brook shaw said:if anybody has some-drop me a line,,, :|

KiwiRover said:Brook, how did you reach the conclusion that you have the wrong badges? I thought we established that the large ROVER letters were only fitted to 1970-71 cars and yours is clearly much later. The plate badges are correct for your car, the 3500S badges are not correct for an automatic though.
KiwiRover said:Sorry Dave, i'm only vaguely familiar with the UK plate dates, but if K reg came in in August '71 and the '72 season cars arrived in October '71, then odds are it's a '72.
But I'm only going by Brook's introduction thread where he states that the car is Arctic white, (late '72 -'75) has the later round choke knobs, (late '72 early '73 intro) light wood trim, ('75 ish) vinyl roof, ('74 year for autos) and the thin back box pleat seats. ('74 model year)
It is an auto though so the 'S' badges are definitely wrong. It is of course possible that everything has been changed, the car does have non-standard bumpers and wheels. The biggest tell would be the fusebox. If it has the large fusebox in the passenger glovebox, then it is at least a '72 and should have the plate badges. If it has the small 4 fuse box on the lh inner wing, it is a '71 and should have seperate rover letters.
Either way, it looks like a later car (even if someone has made it that way) so I would be inclined to keep the plate badges.
Aren't American spec cars badged 'S' and auto or am I going mad?
That would match the bumpers if that's what someone was trying to achieve
but (and I'm sure I speak for pretty much everyone) we really don't care what it is you put on your car as long as it is what you want to do.well as i suspected mines got wrong badges
