Refurbing my new old alloys

Dammit, two bad studs has turned into 7 out of the 20 now!
Oh well.
I'll be trimming the grease caps down i think, especially after £20 worth of studs ordered, but i like the spacer idea.
Do your wheels sit noticeably further out?

You need to be really carefull with those studs, you don't want to end up with them spinning in the hub. I friend of mine had one do that on his mg midget and we ended up having to cut the minilite wheel off to get to the stud.

Good grief no... The spacers are only 1.5-2mm thick at most so you'd never detect a visual difference. I think they were £14.99 for the pair.

Studs arrived today, all now on but haven't had a chance to test drive yet.
Plus this weather isn't too good for photographs
I'm sure the front will come down a little more, i took these as soon as i de'jacked

I'll get some better shots if the sun ever rears its face again

Oooo the tension... Yeah the front suspension will come down soon enough. Mine looked like a bit like bambi too until it'd had a quick spin.

It looks really nice so far though!

Thanks for the compliments!
All is well, they're holding air nicely, and i've finally had a decent extended test drive.
I was prepared for a slight improvement in handling, but wasn't expecting it to make that much difference :D
Body roll is significantly improved, and grip is so much better.
You cant practically throw it round corners now.
I was also prepared for more road noise/shock bumps etc, but it is quite the opposite. Especially smooth at speed.

For anyone who is toying with the idea of changing to wider larger wheels, i sure recommend it.
I'm having more fun than ever driving my p6 now :D

Thanks again to Jim TwinPlenum for putting me in touch with Hugh, who did me a great deal on the wheels initially.

It's good isn't it! It takes an enthusiastically-taken wet roundabout to get the back end twitching now, not that I would condone that kind of behaviour of course.
