I've had a new roof painted and are about to install it. The old roof had a firm/heavy flexible sealer a bit like blu-tak.
I have some black windscreen sealer but this is quite fluid in comparison to the old sealer, maybe the old sealer has dried a bit. The concern I have with the windscreen sealer is being more fluid it will squeeze out of the area between roof and base unit a. inside the car and b. into the rain gutters.
From the posts I've read a flexible sealer is required but no one actually states the brand they have used and their experience with this.
Could someone who has done this please provide a brand of sealer which is best to use. Or is the windscreen sealer OK and I'm being over cautious as I've not done this before.
Btw the old roof was rusting under the sealer above the drivers door.
Cheers from NZ.
