A Brilliant day,a bit fresh, but it was good to meet everyone. :)
Unfortunately I found out my camera is knackered!!

So if anyone happens to have a few happy snaps of Connor at his 1st show, he and I would be grateful of a copy or 2 for the piccy album! :)

Looked like a great day i'm sorry i missed it due to work.

Would be great to organise a big meet like this down in the south for next year?

Great pictures.

Aaron.

That looks like a fantastic show. I really wish I could have got there, but unfortunately car problems meant it wasn't possible. I hope I can get to a similar event next year.

I didnt see who owned WPG2G. I love the colour - guessing it's not a P6 colour. Looks similar to the heritage colour i used to have on my 75 so possibly a P5 colour?

The car is Bordeaux Red, a P5 colour. According to BMIHT, it was built this colour, and when Nigel Flemen (the owner) restored the car he went with this.

I'm not a fan of minilites, but they really look the business on this car.

Cheers

Hi Rich
I never got to catch up with you, would have loved a look around your car.

we had SEVEN Three Thousand Fives at the show. I'd have loved to have got them lined up at the end for a photo.

Cheers
Nick

Don't suppose you've got any means of bringing both P6s (like using one to tow the other on a trailer)?

Pity the rally is up in the Midlands - are there any such gatherings in the Home Counties?

You obviously missed the Cranleigh RP6C gathering in August where we had 25 or so P6's.

Hi Nick, THat is the same colour as my old 75 then - was trying to remember for the life od me what it was called. Lovely colour... And I agree on the minilites! Don't normally like them, but they really suited that car.

I could see you seemed to be permanently busy - I'm sure you'll see PAE again - it's my mission to make sure it stay roadworthy etc :)

I'll probably pop to the stoneleigh thing (only 30 minutes drive from here...)so might see you there if you're involved?

Rich.

The location we had (Rudgeley) is actually extremely central in the UK - The lads from Co. Durham had three hours travel time, as did the South East contingent (let alone Dave3066, our biggest Globetrotter, down again from Scotland).

News on the location of next year's show will follow shortly.

Policy this year was to have a Northern bash (Beamish, in May), a Southern gathering (Cranleigh in August) and the National in a central location. Next year will be a similar arrangement.

Cheers
Nick

I owned WPG2G for a few months about ten years ago, so have an sentimental attachment to her (although basically sound she was very tired when I got her). Nigel has done the absolute business with this car and she's now in the Premier League of droolsome Rovers.

You realise you're going to be inundated with piccies now :D

Great day out, good to meet everyone, sorry if I missed anyone ( quattro I didn't even realise you were there and rockdemon, despite being just across the line from me :( ) but there was just sooooo much to chat about.

For some of us this was "down south" :D although as Nick D pointed out it was, for the vast majority, a very central location so well done to the committee.

No cooling issues now! All in the green on the temp dial!

Rich.

Good to hear your cooling issues are sorted

Just have to say thankyou to everyone who came and made what I'm fairly certain is the largest show The RP6C have ever organised, and probably the biggest gathering of P6's in one place since at least Blenheim Palace in 2003.

It also took the record books for the latest I've ever managed to get back from a show - after dropping Rhys's friends off in Essex we arrived home just after midnight. That's later than I got back from Beamish. Long, long day!

Cheers
Nick

Even I got home before that, but we didn't stop for the buffet.

So am I :) although short compared to your journey the 80 mile round trip yesterday was PAEs longest run so was really glad the engine temp behaved all the way there and back...

I thought this was really well spread out - would have made one of the others if PAE had been engined at the time :)

i just wanto say what a great weekend i had , fitted my leather seats and picked up my new side trims , saw all my family and some friends , went to rugeley which has to be the best setting for a show ive seen because its in a bowl it lends a cosy feeling to the proceedings , i particularly want to thank the organisers for their hard work and friendly welcome and for personally coming to explain to my mum and sister how to vote , it meant that they could be involved in the event , the golf club provided the caffeine hit and a nice pint of real ale for myself , im sorry if i passed flu bugs to anyone particularly our webmaster ,had a great afternoon thanks and sorry i had to shoot off early , the rover did exactly 660 miles plus the rosslare to pembroke and returned on the swansea cork ferries and it didnt once complain , in a nearby garage came across a black p5 with a barely silenced 4.1 litre motor in it , and the stangest sight of all on the m50 ,a guy on a chopper style motorbike towing a homemade trailer with a barrel mounted on it , the top of the barrel was cut out and standing in the barrel the guys big rottweiler dog , i wished id got a pic of it, what the police would make of it i never know, thanks rich

I'd just like to echo the others' comments and say it was a great day, nice cars, good location and fantastic people too. Well done to Angie and Mark and anyone else who ordganised the event.

I put some more faces to names, but didn't managed to talk to rockdemon or Dave3066 even though I saw your cars. I think Quattro must work for Mi5 though as no one knew you were there, would have been good to say hello.

Neither did we Dave! The M1 was abysmal. Truly horrible drive back.
